PITTI UOMO 96
DAY 2 & 3
Pitti 96 is set to be the year of eco-style.
With five eco-friendly capsule collections - this year was all about having the environment in mind. This eco-consciousness was especially reflected in the earthly colourways seen both on the runways and in the streets of Pitti. Worldly notions of green, brown, beige and blue were being contrasted with the bright and striking contradictions of purple pink and yellow.
Following on from the first day of Pitti there remained a major trend for patterned shirts and ties - the majority of patterns being floral and striped. The peacocks of Pitti did not hold back when it came to pattern and colour - exciting statements were made through contrast.
These busy designs contradict the comfortable, relaxed and almost safari-like garments that have also made a big appearance this year. Blazers were worn with loose trousers, shirts unbuttoned and loafers have been proven to be a wardrobe essential. The blending together of complacent summer clothing and classic tailoring has become evermore apparent this year.
